Under the stars... "Sipping Bordeaux and eating delicious Entrecote was the perfect way to spend a Wednesday night. Paradou has really set a great environment to relax in a private garden under the stars. Lucky for us, the garden was heated for a chilly September evening.
I was very satisfied with the ambiance, food, wine, and lovely waiters.

Not to be missed. "The Calamari Basquaise is really outstanding; although served as an appetizer, one could order several satisfying plates as a meal! :) The scallops and the skate are also amazing. And don't forget the crepes afterwards: hazlenut creme and nut ... YUMMM! Goes down well with a perfectly served Lillet."

"Very personable owner and staff. Excellent wine selection and interesting variety of dishes. Great selection of pate. I was with a group of 6 and the space could probably accommadate 25 seated comfortably. Our waiter was incredibly attentive, well-versed in the menu, and made great wine and food recommendations. If you are looking for a little charm, authentic French cuisine without pretention, skip Pastis and go here (but let's keep this our secret!)"

"paradou is a true find. i've been going there for several months and continue to enjoy it thoroughly. the menu is very interesting and tries very hard to stay true to its french/mediterranean infulences. the wine list is surprisingly extensive for a place this size and the vast majority of the wines are available by the glass. i love it there, a true slice of paradise!"

"Went to Paradou with friends last Saturday after hearing about it for some time. Really really great. We sat in the amazing garden, which is partially covered and heated. The food was excellent. Non-compromising, authentic and definitely not nouvelle. A great and varied wine list as well. The service was solid, knowledgeablem friendly and not intrusive. They also play some of the best music Ive heard outside of clubs/lounges. I definitely see myslef setting up camp here for the summer."

"Paradou is a great local secret. great sandwiches and salads and an intreguing wine list. Ask for the reserve list which is undoubtedly the best value-for-exceptional wines in manhattan. Hip location and clientelle without being posey. Smack bang in the middle of the meatpacking district it has all the edge without any of the pretension. Best of all is the wonderful backyard garden with it's jack and the bean stalk cliff walls. Great for cosy intimate dates or with a racous wine-knowledged crowd."
